This antique Persian Malayer rug, measuring 4' 3" x 7', showcases a captivating interplay of deep blue and warm red tones. The richly detailed field features a central diamond medallion flanked by a vertical column of stylized floral rosettes, all framed by dynamic angular corner spandrels. The red borders are filled with whimsical animal and abstract forms, adding visual rhythm and charm to the composition. Woven in the 1920s, the rug is a testament to fine village craftsmanship, with a durable wool pile and a distinctive artistic voice that remains vibrant to this day.

Malayer rugs are known for their unique blend of tribal and classical Persian design elements.
