This 10x10 antique Persian Sarouk rug features a beautifully balanced square format, a rare shape in traditional Persian weaving. Its richly saturated red field is adorned with an allover floral lattice of sprays and palmettes, framed by a striking navy border filled with lush botanical motifs. The fine craftsmanship of this piece is immediately evident in its crisp design articulation and harmonious palette. The rug’s structure is tight and refined, showcasing traditional 1920s Sarouk weaving at its peak, ideal for a formal dining area or grand entryway.

Sarouk rugs are known for their dense, durable weave and refined floral designs, often centered around a medallion or arranged in intricate allover patterns. Produced in central Persia, particularly around Arak, these rugs became especially popular in Western markets during the early 20th century. Unlike village rugs, Sarouks were often woven to meet urban tastes, with higher knot densities and elegant compositions.
